Instead, we get the mournful, gospel-strewn soul of вЂњGood News,вЂќ the drone-inspired Middle Eastern elegance of вЂњ8-Ball,вЂќ the giddily pop-hoppy вЂњSpoiled,вЂќ and the mood-swinging musicality of SmokeвЂ™s vocal flow on the freestyle-centered вЂњCoupeвЂќ and вЂњBeat The Speaker.вЂќ All of these show off the Victor production teamвЂ™s dedication to broadening SmokeвЂ™s sonic and melodic palette. There also isnвЂ™t much of a focus on pure trap, or the horror-scape death-disco vibe repeated again and again on вЂњStarsвЂќвЂ¦ also fine.
